The Vietnam Dairy - International Exhibition of Dairy and Dairy Products, held from May 30 to June 2, 2019 in Ho Chi Minh City by Vietnam Dairy Association (VDA) and VIETFAIR, brought together more than 100 companies and organizations in dairy industry. As a sponsor for seminar “Milk and Vietnamese health”, Abbott continues to accompany VDA on the journey of raising awareness of Vietnamese people on critical healthcare issues and furthering its commitment enhancing people health in Vietnam.

Since 2017, Abbott has been sponsoring Vietnam Dairy in an effort to raise awareness on critical healthcare issues, introducing breakthrough products and thereby empowering Vietnamese people to live not just longer but better. At the Abbott booth, visitors could have the chance to do quick health check, get advice on health status as well as science-based nutrition that meet the needs.

Understanding that proper nutrition is the foundation for living the best life possible, Abbott has been focusing on introducing science-based nutrition products for people of all ages. Abbott’s products help babies and children grow, keep bodies strong and active, and support the unique nutrition needs of people with chronic illnesses — to make every stage of life a healthy one. The company is behind some of the world’s most trusted names, including Ensure for adults, Glucerna for people with diabetes, Similac and PediaSure for children development.

Operating in Vietnam since 1995, Abbott has been considering Vietnam one of its important market and endlessly working on its commitment to accompany the country facing critical challenges in nutrition and building a healthy community together. Vietnam is recently one of the first markets in the world that Abbott launched breakthrough product such as Ensure with HMB help to prevent muscle loss due to aging and Similac with HMO nurtures children’s strong immunity and brain development.

The way Abbott responds to Vietnam’s healthcare challenges goes farther than introducing breakthrough innovation and make them accessible to Vietnamese people. The company has formed strategic partnerships with the Vietnam Ministry of Health (MOH) under several MoUs, regarding maternal nutrition, healthy aging, quality nutrition in hospitals and food safety. Moreover, Abbott and its foundation, the Abbott Fund, have provided nearly VND230 billion (US$10.2 million) in grants and product donations to address critical health issues through partnerships focused on improving nutrition, training health care staff, strengthening health systems, and expanding community education through symposiums, workshops and overall nutrition knowledge transfer.
