MM Mega Market Vietnam Exports Vietnamese Agricultural Products to Singapore

Recently, MM Mega Market Vietnam Co., Ltd. (MM) officially signed a contract with CMM Marketing Management Pte Ltd (CMM) to export Vietnamese agricultural products to Singapore market.

According to the signed contract, MM Mega Market Vietnam will export fresh vegetables, mushroom and fruits to Singapore through CMM Singapore to distribute at Sheng Siong Supermarket's 60 stores. Sheng Siong Supermarket is the third-largest retailer in Singapore market.

 This event laid the first foundation for MMVN's Vietnam strategy to export Vietnamese agricultural products to Singapore. In September, MMVN will export the first order to Singapore, including such items as Da Lat bell pepper, sweet potato and seedless lemon with a total output of about 20 tons. It is expected that in 2019, MMVN will export about 100 tons of Vietnamese agricultural products to Singapore market.

The signing event marked the second foreign market that MMVN officially exported Vietnamese agricultural products after being granted the export license since end of 2017. Earlier in 2018, MMVN had exported Vietnamese agricultural products to the first market, Thailand and increased the export volume about 200 tons /month this year.

At the signing ceremony, Mr. Phidsanu Pongwatana, Managing Director of MM Mega Market Vietnam said: “In addition to boosting consumption of Vietnamese goods at the system of 19 MMVN centers across the country, one of MMVN's important strategies is to promote the exportation of Vietnamese agricultural products to foreign markets through the international distribution system of TCC Land International (Singapore) Pte. We are delighted that MMVN continues to be the connection, bringing Vietnam's agricultural products to Singapore, an imported market with great potential but also very demanding in Southeast Asia.”

The products that MMVN exports to this market are produced in accordance with Codex Lab Testing standards and apply HACCP process to ensure food hygiene and safety. We believe that, with the streng of our supply chains of safe agricultural products and export experience to the system of more than 1,000 Big C Thai stores will help MMVN successfully export Vietnamese agricultural products to Singapore with increasing output in the coming years”, added Mr. Phidsanu.

MMVN’s Đà Lạt-based vegetable platform and Ben Tre – based fruit platform have to date been recognized as one of the few food safety qualified facilities that supply some of the best vegetables and fruits in Vietnam. After more than 10 years of building and developing the modern chain of production links to serve domestic and export needs, MMVN is currently cooperating with nearly 300 farming households in three main material areas in Lam Dong, including Don Duong, Duc Trong and Da Lat. Covering a 250-ha source area, every year, this depot is churning out more than 12,000 tons of VietGAP qualified vegetables and fruits.

To ensure product quality as well as stable output, MMVN has selected standard farms, organized training courses and MM's agricultural engineers always work closely with farmers throughout the production process. All exports of MMVN’s vegetables and fruits in the coming time to Singapore will be selected from Đà Lạt and Ben Tre-based vegetable and fruit platform.

Recently, MMVN have officially signed Memorandum of Understanding with Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam on facilitating connection, sale of Vietnamese goods in the distribution system of MMVN in Vietnam and supporting exportation of Vietnamese goods in other foreign markets. 

The today signing contract with CMM Singapore to export of Vietnam agricultural products to Singapore, once again, strongly affirm MMVN’s commitment to promote Vietnamese exports to regional markets. This event also affirmed the MM Mega Market’s long-term commitment and sustainable business development strategy in Vietnam.

In October this year, MMVN will cooperate with Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade to organize the Vietnamese Goods Week in Thailand to promote trade opportunities between the two countries, while supporting Vietnamese businesses to export Vietnamese products to Thailand.
