Vinh Phuc: Industrial Index Climbs 11.8% in Jan-Aug

The August index of industrial production of Vinh Phuc province rose by 1.6% over the previous month and by over 12% over the same period in 2018, boosted by industrial processing, manufacturing, water supply and waste treatment, mining, electricity and gas production and distribution.

For the first eight months of 2019, the index climbed 11.8% year on year. Outperforming industries included electronic product manufacturing which soared 44.5%, metal manufacturing (25.4%), non-metallic mineral manufacturing (23.6%) and electrical equipment manufacturing (22.4%). The output of some industrial products jumped high in the reviewed period, for example sports shoes (over 4.8 million pairs, up 30.5%), tiles (99.6 million cubic meters, up 23.6%), air conditioners (over 18,200 units, up 28.7%), and commercial electricity (over 3,900 million kWh, up 15.2%.)

Socioeconomic performance was quite stable in the first eight months of 2019 and provided a favorable environment and conditions for local enterprises in general and industrial companies in particular to continue development. The province continued to seek consumer markets for its locally strong products, stabilize production, create jobs and ensure stable incomes for workers. Besides, its expanding export markets are facilitating local businesses to stabilize production and develop industrial production.
