VCCI, AHRC to Step up Cooperation in Social Security

On February 26 at the headquarters of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh - General Secretary of VCCI - hosted a working meeting with the delegation of the Australian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) led by Senior Policy Executive Natasha De Silva.

At the meeting, Madam Natasha De Silva hoped that AHRC will receive VCCI's effective advice and cooperation in sustainable development, human resource development and social security among others.

VCCI General Secretary Nguyen Quang Vinh welcomed the AHRC visit, adding that 2020 will be an important year for VCCI, which is the Chairman of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN BAC). Like some other countries, Vietnam is having to carry out its economic plans in the midst of coronavirus outbreak. Therefore, promoting cooperation with international organizations to exchange experiences is very important and always a top priority of VCCI.

He also stressed the role of sustainable development in the fields of education, human development, business support, especially for small and medium enterprises engaged in apparel, footwear, and seafood. These are very important issues for the development of Vietnam in general and the development of the business community in particular.

At the end of the meeting, the representatives of AHRC and VCCI agreed to kick off some cooperation events and programs in 2020.
