Dai Nam Race Course Valued at over US$100 Million

On January 29, 2017, Dai Nam Corporation held a grand ceremony to open Dai Nam Race Course, the first in the world to integrate a variety of sports at the same time.
Attending the opening ceremony included Mr Nguyen Minh Triet - former President of Vietnam, Mr Phan Van Khai - former Prime Minister, Mr Tran Van Nam - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee and Head of National Assembly College of Binh Duong, Mr Nguyen Van Loi - Secretary of the Binh Phuoc Provincial Party Committee, and Mr Tran Thanh Liem - Deputy Secretary of the Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Binh Duong Provincial People’s Committee.

Former and current leaders of Binh Duong province, Binh Phuoc province and Thu Dau Mot City also attended the ceremony. Mr Ngo Quang Vinh - Vice President of the Vietnam Cyclist and Sports Motor Association, Mr Huynh Uy Dung - President of Dai Nam Corporation, and Ms Nguyen Phuong Hang - Deputy General Director of Dai Nam Corporation and Head of Dai Nam Race Course Tournament.

The US$100-million racecourse uses start-of-the-art technologies imported from Germany, France, the United States, Japan and South Korea. The racecourse covers nearly 60 ha and is capable of serving more than 20,000 seats.

The world-class racecourse is considered the largest of its kind in Vietnam. The facility can serve many different sports such as horse racing, dog racing, miniature F1 racing (Pro-Kart), car racing, jet-ski, fly-board and stunt motor.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr Huynh Ngoc Dang, Director of the Binh Duong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stressed that the racecourse is a sports complex capable of simultaneously serving many speed sports.

Dai Nam Race Course will be a healthy and useful playground for all people passionate about speed sports. This is a typical result of sports socialisation policy adopted by the State and the Party.

Once completed and put into operation, Dai Nam Race Course will be an impressive and proud destination of culture, tourism and sports of Binh Duong province and of the country. Dang also praised Dai Nam Corporation for its important efforts in construction and commissioning of Dai Nam Race Course.

Mr Ngo Quang Vinh, Deputy Chairman of the Vietnam Cyclist and Sports Motor Association, said, “The construction of a racecourse complex for various sports, particularly the biggest world-class motor racecourse in Vietnam to date. Designed with standards of the International Motorist Federation, the racecourse will offer an opportunity for developing motor racing to new heights.

Dai Nam Race Course will serve sport-loving people and train necessary techniques and skills for racing. This course will be a new face of Vietnamese sports motorcycling.

Ms Nguyen Phuong Hang, Deputy General Director of Dai Nam Corporation and Head of Dai Nam Race Course, said, “This project is the lifetime dedication of my husband, Huynh Uy Dung, all the staff of Dai Nam Corporation, and Dai Nam Race Course. Net profit from the Dai Nam Race Course will be used to fund heart surgeries for children in Vietnam.”

On the opening day, Dai Nam Race Course hosted horse racing and motor racing. In horse racing, Qua Chi horse (No. 12) owned by Nguyen Van Khap and ridden by jockey Tran Hoai Phong won the first prize worth a tael of gold. Lukaku horse (No. 6) owned by Nguyen Hung Cuong and ridden by jockey Nguyen Thanh Duoc was the runner up, winning six maces of gold.

In motor racing, Nguyen An Tuan from Long Nguyen (Ben Cat) claimed the first prize. Nguyen Minh Tri from An Dien, Ben Cat was the runner-up and Huynh Minh Sang from Hoc Mon, Ho Chi Minh City was the third-place winner. Respective rewards to first three winners were 10, 6 and 4 maces (chee) of gold.
