Vietnam attaches importance to the relationship with Japan in the spirit of Vietnam-Japan extensive strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia, said PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc at his reception for Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Kunio Umede on February 14 in Ha Noi.
Hailing Japanese PM Abe’s official visit to Vietnam in early 2017, the Government chief appraised the achievements and success gained during the visit, expressing his thanks to the Japanese Ambassador and Embassy for their contribution to the success of the Japanese PM’s visit.
The PM expected that high-ranking visits in 2017 will enable Vietnam-Japan relations to achieve outstanding and realistic developments for the sake of both sides’ people.
For his side, Ambassador Kunio Umede reported to the PM the coordination with Vietnamese relevant agencies for the future visit of the Japanese Emperor and Empress as well as the preparation for the large-scale investment promotion programme in Vietnam, which will attract the participation of around 1,000 Japanese businesses.
PM Phuc and Ambassador Kunio Umede also exchanged issues of international and regional concerns.
