The relations between Vietnam and the United States in general, and Vietnam and US localities in particular, are seen as a comprehensive orientation with the potential to further develop the cooperation between Vietnam and the United States. Vietnam is always willing to create good conditions for US businesses investing for the long term in Vietnam.
Addressing the meeting with the Mayor of San Francisco Edwin Lee during the latter’s recent working visit to the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Dr Doan Duy Khuong, VCCI Vice President, said that the US is now the biggest exporting market of Vietnam. He appreciated the cooperation in trade, investment, culture and tourism with the United States, especially with US localities, including San Francisco.
As the largest investment and trade promotion organisation in Vietnam, VCCI acted as a focal point connecting Vietnamese and foreign enterprises, Dr Khuong added.
Mayor of San Francisco Edwin Lee expressed the desire to focus on building cooperation between the two countries, hoping that more and more businesses and organisations in the city would establish business relationships with Vietnamese partners.
“There are people in Vietnam wishing to invest in the United States, and those from the US wanting to invest in Vietnam; both are creating great jobs and great opportunities. We are strong in healthcare, science, technology and education, which hold prospects for investment cooperation,” he said.
