Vietnam Manufacturing Expo 2017 Start-ups Usher in New Phase of Manufacturing

Posted: Wednesday, April 26, 2017

The international exhibition Vietnam Manufacturing Expo 2017 (VME) has announced today its opening at Hanoi International Center For Exhibition (I.C.E., Hanoi) with representative from Royal Thai Embassy in Hanoi, the organizer – Reed Tradex, and local and foreign associations.

The exhibition will take place from April 26 to 28, the focus will be on metrology and assembly automation to give the best experience and preparation to step in new era of industry 4.0.

The 9th international exhibition Vietnam Manufacturing Expo 2017 is fast gaining momentum to reach its track record as the industry’s foremost sourcing, procurement and information event for the manufacturing industry. Visitors will discover a broad range of technologies, knowledge, and networks by 200 leading brands from 20 countries. In addition, there will also be a large number of technological solutions on display for production under aspects of Industry 4.0.

“Industry 4.0 may or may not be recognized as revolutionary – rather it may be seen as evolutionary. Industry 4.0 will be a game changer for the Vietnamese workforce. The human workforce will need multiple skills to take on complex manufacturing roles”, Mr. Isara Burintramart, Managing Director of Reed Tradex, shared at the opening ceremony.

Considering the skilled labor is one of the important key to step up forwarding new era of Industry 4.0, the organizer have also prepared content, activities, and education program that will inspire and enhance knowledge and industry networks for all participants such as “Welding Competition,” “VME Forum by VAMI” on a topic “New Technological Applications in Manufacturing Mechanical Products,” “Engineer Master Class” in which an executive from an automotive components manufacturer whose client includes the motorcycle brand Piaggio will talk about “The Journey of a Successful Business,” and “Shows in Show.”

Another highlights of this year Vietnam Manufacturing Expo 2017 are two co-located events called “Industrial Components and Subcontracting Vietnam” or ICSV, where parts makers and potential buyers will be matched, and “Vietnam Sheet Metal,” where sheet metalworking technologies, knowledge, and ideas will be discovered. This is the answer to serve the higher demands from the production-oriented investors which represented 70 percent of total FDIs in the country.

Vietnam is opening up its economy and thus bringing down tariff and non-tariff barriers with a multitude of countries, both within Asia and globally. The change is largely triggered by newer and larger South Korean, Japanese and Taiwanese investments and new also the new investors from Thailand.

H.E. Mr. Manopchai Vongphakdi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Royal Thai Embassy in Hanoi, shared: “I have been seeing business opportunities emerging for Vietnamese businesses, especially in the manufacturing sector where the majority of investment from Thailand resides. Thailand is currently ranked tenth among 112 foreign investors in Vietnam. Thai businesses have invested in 440 projects with a total registered capital of US$7.7 billion, according to the Foreign Investment Agency.”

This year, Small and Medium Industrial Institute (SMI) will lead Thai companies to enter Vietnam’s market under Thailand Pavilion. There is another 3 International Pavilions from Japan, Korea, and Taiwan to support visitors to source products and services from leading technology’s countries.

Again, "KOMA TAISEN in Hanoi 2017" will make its return to Hanoi for the second time. On the ring of this competition will showcase not only the wonderful balance with high precession of each spin top, but also the high skill and technology from the Vietnamese manufacturers.
