PM Chairs Dialogue with Business Representatives

PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc on May 17 is chairing a dialogue with business representatives.

Themed “Cooperating with businesses”, the meeting manifests the determination to establish a creative Government facilitating actions and supporting the development of business to become the nation’s development impetus.

President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan, leaders of some ministries and agencies, attended the event.

As many as 2,000 delegates will directly join the event, fourfold compared to the previous one organized in 2016, including 1,500 from the private sector, 200 from the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) sector, representatives from Embassies and large financial institutions and 100 from the State owned-enterprises and equitised ones as well as representatives of State and press agencies.

Leaders from 63 cities and provinces will join the meeting through a teleconference with the estimated delegates of around 50 to 100 at each destination, raising the total number of delegates to nearly 10,000.

The Minister of Planning and Investment will make a report on the implementation of the Government’s Resolution No.35/NQ-CP on supporting and developing businesses which was issued following PM Phuc's first dialogue held in Ho Chi Minh City last year.

Representatives from business associations will make suggestions and leaders from ministries, agencies and localities will exchange and discuss tackling difficulties for businesses.

After the meeting, the PM will issue a Directive on cooperating with businesses and hold a meeting with Deputy PMs, ministries, agencies to review suggestions of businesses.

Since the first dialogue, the number of newly-registered businesses rose by 16.2 per cent to 110,000 from 2015, according to the General Statistics Office. This was a record high.
