“Economic administration towards an enabling state”

Posted: Friday, June 16, 2017

This is the theme of an international conference co-organised by the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the World Bank Group in Hanoi.
The conference aims at facilitating the exchange of international experiences on reshaping the State role in economic governance and institutional strengthening towards an enabling state for greater sustainability and prosperity. This is an opportunity to bring together Vietnamese experts, policy advisers and policymakers and international specialists from countries that have taken deep institutional transformation steps that may fit Vietnam’s context, including Malaysia, South Korea, Poland, and the World Bank.

The conference consists of four plenary sessions. The first session, opened in the form of a round-table discussion, defines the context and outlines key challenges in Vietnam's institutional reform agenda towards a constructive state. The following sessions present illustrative examples of practical and concrete public administration and governance reforms, and the ways the State role develops to facilitate better interaction with market and society to deliver better development results.
