Vietnam Wins Bids to Export 175,000 Tonnes of Rice to Philippines

Posted: Wednesday, August 09, 2017

After the National Food Authority of the Philippines (NFA) issued a notice on the importation of 250,000 tonnes of rice via an open international government to public (G2P) tender to all suppliers in the world, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam announced this in its website and sent it to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA) and rice exporters to register to join the tender if meeting NFA conditions.

The NFA hosted the tender on July 25, 2017. According to the NFA, Vietnamese enterprises won six out of eight bids to supply 175,000 tonnes, or 70 per cent of the total tender volume. The four Vietnamese winners are Vietnam Southern Food Corporation (50,000 tonnes), Tan Long Group Joint Stock Company (50,000 tonnes), Gia International Corporation (50,000 tonnes) and Hiep Loi Joint Stock Company (25,000 tonnes). This result will contribute positively to the consumption of paddy rice, particularly of the summer-autumn crop.
