Aon’s operation in Vietnam was established in 1994 and is comprised of Aon Risk Solutions, which provides multifaceted retail broking and Aon Benfield, the reinsurance intermediary and capital advisory arm of Aon.

Over the years, Aon Vietnam has contributed significantly to minimising customers’ total cost of risk and insurance, with an unwavering commitment to protecting their assets, people, profitability, and the integrity of their brand name. 2016 also marked a critical juncture in Vietnam’s growth and emergence in the global economy. The country consistently ranks among the world’s fastest-growing economies and continued to expand for a second straight year, at a rate in excess of six percent, defying a regional slowdown and outperforming a number of other countries in Asia. Moreover, disbursed foreign direct investment climbed 9 percent to a record $15.8 billion in 2016 as foreign companies continue to invest in Vietnam to take advantage of its highly competitive labour and low cost.

The Vietnamese insurance market also continues to be extremely competitive. While penetration is currently low, demand is accelerating. The country's continued economic development, combined with significant natural hazards, means growing levels of risk.
