NEPCON Vietnam 2017: 10 Years of Gaining Momentum to Advance Forward

On 13 – 15 September 2017 at Hanoi International Center For Exhibition (I.C.E., Hanoi), "NEV” NEPCON Vietnam 2017 continually improved standard and quality of Vietnam’s industries by upgrading electronics manufacturing with a variety of technologies and machinery from 200 brands from 20 countries and 6 international pavilions, in order to satisfy over 7,653 Vietnamese and international investors from many sectors.

 

The grand co-location of NEPCON Vietnam 2017, Industrial Components & Subcontracting Vietnam 2017 and The 7th Vietnam-Japan Supporting Industries Exhibition had the mutual mission to offer the comprehensive business platform to ride this momentum in promoting industrial growth through the organization of technology platform with business matching opportunities and knowledge-enriching conference. The significantly increased number of visitors at 7,653 and 255 group visits came from 25 countries. The successful business match making program matched 440 Key Buyers, presenting the interest in electronics manufacturing industry.

 

As every year, “Hand Soldering Competition by IPC” continually recognized the best skills in hand soldering complex printed board assemblies ensured by zero-defect soldering processes. With the congratulation, the winner, Ms. Vu Thi Xuan from UMC Electronics Vietnam, was announced as the most skilled solder in building a functional electronics assembly within time limit and specification.

“We are very positive about the growth of Vietnam’s market in the electronics manufacturing industry. By joining NEPCON Vietnam 2017, we are committed to meeting the needs and expectations of our clients and to build a long-term relationship with them to strive for sustainable profitability together”, Mr. Shan Lian Lee, CEO of Shenmao Technology Inc., one of the exhibitor, shared his positive opinion on Vietnam’s future. Besides of the demonstration of technologies, machinery and solutions for supporting and electronics manufacturing industries in Vietnam, the organizer prepared the rich content and education program to sharpen the competiveness and strengthen the business network with foreign partners.


This year, Japan External Trade Organization (Hanoi Representative Office) organized quality seminars with 5 interesting topics: “JETRO Activities for Development of Supporting Industry in Vietnam”, “Developing Situation of Vietnamese Suppliers from Result of Supplier Research in 2017”, “Key Point of Success in Business with Japanese Companies”, ”Project Introduction – JICA Survey for SME Promotion and Industrial Development in Vietnam” and “The Importance of Financial Statements in Corporate Management and Production Management System”. Mr. Hironobu Kitagawa, Chief of Representative of Japan External Trade Organization (Hanoi Representative Office), believed that “It is our hope that through bringing Japanese and Vietnamese companies to discuss business face-to-face, we will be able to promote further development of a market economy in Vietnam and strengthen the relationship between the two countries.” He also added more “JETRO Hanoi has collaborated with VIETRADE to organize “The 7th Vietnam-Japan Supporting Industries Exhibition” as a platform for Japanese and Vietnamese companies in the supporting industries to network and meet with potential business partners who can compliment’s their business operations.”

 

Moreover, Electronics Industry in Vietnam keeps growing and becoming more integrated with other industries in the age of Industry 4.0. Together with the organizer, Vietnam Electronic Industries Association (VEIA) passionately co-organized NEPCON Vietnam Conference 2017 with the key topic “Systems and Tools to Improve Productivity and Quality - The Basis for Enterprises Involved in Supporting Industries and International Integration” in order to help industrialist learn more about how to formulate new development structure and how to create new business for sustainable achievement.

During 3 days of event, the show offered an ideal atmosphere for effective business matching, knowledge transfer, idea discussion and brand promotion for electronics and supporting industries among participants from ASEAN and partner countries on a large scale. Ms. Vo Thi Thanh Van, Director of  Xuyen Co Co., Ltd., shared that “NEPCON Vietnam is a well-established event whose organizer’s professionalism yielded positive results every year, so we believe our participation will be a great opportunity to promote our brand as well as our products such as PCB and raw materials for producing PCB, PCBA and raw materials for producing PCBA to the target clients.”

One of exhibitors, Ms. Yang Soyeon, Sales Director of Systech Technology and Trading Joint Stock Company, stated that “This time we aim to introduce our new products for ESD solution and Cleanroom specialists. We find that NEPCON Vietnam 2017 provides a good opportunity to meet potential customers.”

 

Mr. Nguyen Van Vinh, Area Manager of Fuji Machine Vietnam Co., Ltd. said that “We offer an advanced-generation factory solution that connects the SMT processes in the “Plan – Do – See” cycle over the network. We think this exhibition will give us an opportunity to advertise products to more factories.”

The NEV17 has also lighted up the positive signal of boosting the localization index for the electronic industry and supporting industry in Vietnam. Mr. Naoki Tohtani, Chief Manager of Nidec-Read Corporation, shared “The Vietnamese manufacturers have improved a lot in recent years that they are certainly going to pose competition for their Japanese counterparts, which is good for us as we look forward to work with suppliers in Vietnam with good quality.”

NEPCON Vietnam 2017 successfully ended beyond the expectations of delivering effective business activities including formed partnerships, negotiations and numerous contracts. It’s a clear proof that Vietnam has been advancing forward as the up-and-coming Hub of Supporting & Electronics Industries in ASEAN. All visitors came and satisfied their demand for innovation, technologies, machines and solutions in electronics manufacturing industry. Next year, this exclusive exhibition will take the return from 11 – 13 October, 2018, again at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City.
