Golden Ranee for Golden Health

Mild climate, fertile soil and fresh water combined with the diligence, industriousness and creativity of Southwestern people have created the realm of the catfish farming and exporting industry. Pangasius and pangasius bocourti are symbols associated with the land and people of the Mekong Delta. International Development & Investment Corporation (IDI), a member of Sao Mai Group, has exported its pangasius and pangasius bocourti fillets to over 100 partners and markets in the world, thus significantly contributing to national branding. At present, IDI is a Top 3 seafood exporter in Vietnam.

When the catfish is processed for fillet, it will leave a large amount of fats which are proven to be rich in essential nutrients necessary to sustain human activity, including unsaturated fatty acids, Omega 3, Omega 6, Omega 9, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid), DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), and other trace minerals previously known only in the livers and fats of deep-sea fish, but now found in fats of pangasius and pangasius bocourti by the National Institute of Nutrition.

Determined not to waste this valuable resource, Sao Mai Group embarked on “opening the treasure of DHA right on the endless supply of gentle Mekong River for human health. In late 2013, the Ranee premium cooking oil refining plant was established and it meets stringent international standards such as ISO 9001-2000 and FSSC 22000. At its vast farming areas, IDI’s experts test samples every day. Tests cover fish, feed, water and environment.

Working closely with raw material areas and a closed production plant which is strictly controlled for food safety standards is the Product Research and Development Centre, which must work continuously to find optimal solutions for natural nutrients like Omega 3, Omega 6, Omega 9, Vitamin A, Vitamin E and other trace minerals found in fish oil to ensure that these micronutrients will not be lost even if Ranee is fried at high temperatures.
