12,565 Industrials United at METALEX Vietnam 2017

11th edition of METALEX Vietnam has been conducted from 12 - 14 October at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), with 12,565 phenomenal quality visitors, and the presence of leading pioneer brands has provided encouraging impetus to the manufacturing industry.

The powerful combination of three shows, “METALEX Vietnam 2017”, “Electronics Assembly 2017” and “Industrial Components & Subcontracting Vietnam 2017” as well as the constellations of technology providers representing 500 brands from 25 countries, accompanied by 10 International Pavilions from 7 countries and territories China, Germany, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand was successfully to introduce advanced metalworking solutions, latest electronics assembly technologies and high quality industrial grade parts.


Mr. Suttisak Wilanan - Deputy Managing Director of the organizer Reed Tradex shared the result “After three informative trade fair days, the Vietnam’s international metalworking trade exhibition - “METALEX Vietnam 2017” reported record new visitor number at 12,565. Meanwhile, the group visitor numbers have risen by 7%, recorded at 275 groups, underlining the trade fair’s status as one of the most important industry events for manufacturing community in Vietnam. More and more trade visitors are also coming from abroad (34 countries), apart from Vietnam, visitors predominantly came from Japan, China, Singapore, Korea and Thailand.”

Alongside technology adoption, manufacturers and industrialists across Vietnam and ASEAN can receive new inspirations from the new features, which are added, to strengthen their productivity and networks together with business delegations from diverse industry.

Evolution to manufacturing industry advancement
This year, METALEX Vietnam has introduced the future of collaborative robots through the showcase of Universal Robots’ UR3 which featured out its abilities and advantages in precision and flexibility through cooking omelets and making coffee. Despite greater precision and accuracy being important, the future lies with the ability for robots to be able to work closely with human operators. At METALEX Vietnam, manufacturers had the opportunity to explore the applications of collaborative robots and automation on factory floor with this Universal Robots special showcase.


In additional, the manufacturers and electronics industrialists across Vietnam joined various presentations and explore the manufacturing process of parts by professionals in the industry at METALEX Vietnam’s new feature - “Drone Racing Technology showcase”. Producing a drone is considered as a technology convergence of microcontroller, energy-efficient microchip, CNC technology, calculation of aerodynamics combines with applicable technology in molding propellers and plastic-based. With the drone market expanding, this will open opportunities for parts and electronics parts manufacturers. At “Drone Racing Technology showcase”, manufacturers had chance to explore and discover opportunities to empower their business growth into new direction.

Enrich content for perpetual enhancement
This year new knowledge and trends emerged from METALEX Vietnam’s conferences, helping business delegates widen their insights in areas of metalworking for future applications. The exclusive AHK Presentation under the topic, “Baden-Württemberg: International, Innovative, Inviting” which presented by Mr. Marko Walde, Chief Representative of Baden-Württemberg, Vietnam, has actively delivered knowledge, guidelines on investment and network expansions to all participants.

In additional, METALEX Vietnam Forum has addressed the dynamic challenges which are costs, constraints and capacities through supply chain experts who provided an overview of the supply chain management and optimization methods. Delegates received new knowledge and methods in order to plan their supply chain optimization that reacts to changes in the market.


Vietnamese engineers from wide range of manufacturing sectors who attend the “Engineer Master Class” have gained enlightening insights on how Industry 4.0 will play the role in the manufacturing and supporting industries. During the seminar Assoc. Dr. Pham Ngoc Tuan, Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City Association of Mechanical Engineering (HAME) delivered an overview of disruptive technologies and offered advice on how the industry should react to overcome these new challenges.

Connection for sustainable business development
The presence of decision makers apart from the technical personnel from manufacturing cooperatives as well as private companies was well appreciated by the exhibitors. Meanwhile, the visitors was satisfied to directly getting advices from key industry’s player such as Misumi, Hexagon, Takamaz, Hiwin, Murata, Showa Denki, Keyence, Saeilo, etc… In additional, trade visitors and pioneers who joined “Business Matchmaking Program” have integrated and constructively connect for future business expansion.

Mr. Taiki Hasuka, Regional Manager of AIDA (Thailand) Co., Ltd. gave his comment that “The reason we have joined METALEX Vietnam is to reach more target customers in Vietnam and to introduce our products. This is also a good place where we can meet and discuss with many people in our industry.”  With the same satisfaction, Mr. Victor Ho, Sales Manager of SMC (VN) Co. Shared by a representative from one of the international pavilions at METALEX Vietnam, Mr. Lam Joon Khoi, Secretary-General of Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) said that “The Singapore Manufacturing Federation understands the importance of technology and regards Vietnam as a manufacturing with strong potentials. Therefore, we always encourage our local companies to explore business opportunities and collaborations in Vietnam. We have high expectations with METALEX Vietnam, therefore we brought to showcase high end technologies that will benefit Vietnamese manufacturers.”

Representative from local firm, Mr. Nguyen Vu Phuong, CEO of Viet Vu Automation Co., Ltd. shared “We continue to join METALEX Vietnam because this is the very well-known technology exhibition.
