Much Room for Vietnam-Liberia Cooperation

Liberia Foreign Minister Marjon Vashti Kamara recently had a working visit to Dr Vu Tien Loc, President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in Hanoi.

Minister Marjon Vashti Kamara expressed her pleasure at working with the VCCI to discuss cooperation between the two countries. She was interested to lean about Vietnam investment climate, including possible areas of cooperation.

VCCI President Vu Tien Loc highly appreciated the delegation's visit and said that trade and investment relations between Vietnam and Liberia is still modest, standing at only about US$35 million. He suggested both sides need to work together to boost the relations to a new high.

Minister Marjon Vashti Kamara shared Liberia's goal of building a private economy, developing agriculture such as rice and timber and developing infrastructure and she was looking forward to learning experience from Vietnam in this regard. Liberian Minister suggested establishing the framework for cooperation in this area. VCCI President Loc agreed that the two sides can sign the cooperation agreement to promote business development between two countries.
