VCCI, Korean Embassy Discuss Plan to Organise Business Forum

Recently, VCCI President Dr Vu Tien Loc had a working meeting with Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Lee Hyuk to discuss the plan to organise a Vietnam-Korea Business Forum in the framework of the State visit by Korean President Moon Jae-In in the coming time.

Addressing the meeting, VCCI President Vu Tien Loc emphasised that with the efforts of the Government and business community of the two countries, the Vietnam-Korea relationship has developed rapidly in recent years. Korea is one of the leading partners of Vietnam in many fields. The upcoming Vietnam-Korea Business Forum is expected to be an important milestone in bilateral cooperation.

At the meeting, Korean Ambassador Lee Hyuk said that after the inauguration of the President of the Republic of Korea, the President paid visits to several countries in Asia, including Vietnam to attend the APEC Summit.

Ambassador Lee Hyuk also expected VCCI to work closely with Korean professional agencies and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) to successfully organise the forthcoming Business Forum, as well as boosting in-depth cooperation between enterprises in the future.

Korea has become the largest foreign investor in Vietnam with a total capital of over US$50 billion. Vietnam is the fourth largest trade partner of Korea, namely two-way trade between the two countries in 2016 reached US$45.1 billion.
