Collecting More Opinions for Amended Tax Administration Bill

Posted: Friday, August 10, 2018

On August 7, the General Department of Taxation, in cooperation with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Vietnam Tax Consultants Association (VTCA), organised a workshop to collect more opinions for the draft Law on Tax Administration (amended). About 200 companies from various industries and fields attend the event.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr Cao Anh Tuan, Deputy General Director of the General Department of Taxation and Head of the Compiling Board of the draft Law on Tax Administration (amended), said that the draft takes taxpayers as the centre. Accordingly, the draft ensures administrative reform requirements to facilitate taxpayers and meet tax administration modernisation requirements.

He said, to bring the law into life and to minimise obstacles, we hope to receive many comments from the business community who are directly affected by the law when it is enforced.

Mr Hoang Quang Phong, VCCI Vice President, added that all opinions from attendants will be forwarded to the law-compiling committee. With the spirit of openness and straightforwardness, he asked businesses to contribute more constructive ideas to the bill.

Also at the workshop, Mr Luu Duc Huy, Director of Policy Department under the General Department of Taxation, highlighted new points of the draft bill, including more rights of taxpayers, tax declaration and payment procedures, tax arrears freezing and late tax payment, and electronic invoices.

The workshop also received many comments from business representatives and finance and accounting professionals.
