The Tra Vinh Provincial People’s Committee decided to mobilise more than VND710 billion to attract investment and develop food processing technologies with key products and competitive advantages such as seafood, peanuts, meat cattle, poultry, fruit juice, and dried fruits and vegetables. This move is expected to help the province to increase the province’s industrial production value to nearly VND40 trillion by 2020.

According to the plan, the province will spend VND8.3 billion on industrial promotion, trade promotion and scientific and technological resources each year, and some VND5 billion to support SME Development Project (Tra Vinh SME) and Mekong Delta Climate Change Adaptation Project (AMD Tra Vinh). The remaining VND700 billion will be mobilised from enterprises to develop the food processing industry.
