Italy- based Sacmi Group has a long history of over 90 years. Back to 1919, Sacmi Imola was founded by 9 mechanics and smiths in Imola at a difficult time for Italy both economically and politically. Over the decades, the Group has reached a leadership position at the international level in various business sectors.

Sacmi Group is now recognized as a worldwide leader in manufacturing machines and complete plants for ceramics, beverage and packaging, processing and plastics industries.

In 1993, Sacmi Group penetrated the Vietnamese ceramics industry by opening two representative offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. “Vietnam is one of the largest ceramics producers in the Far East and the world. We see huge potential for Sacmi here, and this move helps us to be closer to our clients in Asian countries and provide the most innovative equipment to the Vietnamese ceramics industry,” said Ms Hoang Thi Le Trang, Chief Representative of Sacmi Vietnam.

In terms of the ceramics industry, Sacmi provides clients with complete engineering solutions for tile, sanitaryware, tableware, and heavy clay production plants. Sacmi’s strength lies in the application of innovative technology. This supports most local and foreign ceramics manufacturers in Vietnam to meet the hardest to please standards in terms of production. For years, Sacmi Vietnam’s products have won the trust of many famous ceramics manufacturers in Vietnam, such as Thien Thanh, Chang Yih, Vitaly, My Duc ceramics, Y My ceramics, Shijar Vietnam, Trung Do, Viglacera, Toko, Catalan, Prime Group, etc.
Apart from providing equipment and innovative solutions, Sacmi Vietnam also organizes workshops to illustrate its innovative ceramic tile and sanitaryware technology. The symposium held in Hanoi in 2003 was entitled: “International conference on advanced technology to improve quality of export building ceramic products.” The symposium has provided its clients with the latest technologies used in production of ceramic products. Also in 2003, Sacmi was honoured by a visit of the Vietnamese Minister of Construction Nguyen Hong Quan in Imola. This underlined the good relationship between Vietnam and Italy, as well as the mutual interest for construction material markets.

“By following closely the formalisation of the core of the Group’s principles of conduct and values that comply with internal and external activities, Sacmi Vietnam is always aware of our role in promoting trade activities, providing consulting services of production line, technology and after – sales services, and technical support. With its modern equipment and innovative technology, together with professional services, and a well-trained and experienced staff, Sacmi Vietnam guarantees its clients all over Vietnam the best performance of Sacmi machines as well as after - sales services,” shared Ms Trang.

To respond effectively to the demands of changing markets, Sacmi also puts a strong emphasis on investing in research activities at the highest levels, such as promotion of technological innovation; paying attention to quality services and products. Besides, the Group is a flexible and efficient organization able to design and put into practice the most recent innovations as well as provide unbeatable service in any part of the world. Sacmi received ISO 9001 certification in 1996, ISO 14001 certification in 1999 and OHSAS18001 in 2002.

In a country with a young construction sector like Vietnam, especially with a long tradition in ceramic production, Sacmi will have more contributions to the growth of Vietnamese ceramic industry. In the coming time, Sacmi is promising to get involved in other sectors such as food processing, beverage and packaging, and plastic injection.
