Dai-ichi Life Vietnam Provides Clean Water to Pupils in Rural Areas

Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company of Vietnam Ltd. ("Dai-ichi Life Vietnam") in partnership with East Meets West Foundation (EMW), on October 6th , held an official signing ceremony and press conference to announce the launch of the community project “For A Better Life” to provide drinking water to students in rural areas of the country.
 
Under this project, Dai-ichi Life will donate VND1 billion for the installation of UV water filtration system at 24 selected schools in the rural areas of 10 provinces nationwide, including: Thai Binh, Bac Giang, Phu Tho; Quang Binh, Quang Ngai, Thua Thien Hue, Binh Dinh; Tien Giang, Dong Thap and An Giang. Additionally, Dai-ichi Life’s staff and financial consultants will participate with EMW to provide guidance to the pupils on the importance of clean water, personal hygiene, and water conservation. The community project “For A Better Life” financed by Dai-ichi Life Vietnam will be implemented within one year, starting from October 2011 to September 2012, and is expected to benefit more than 12,000 pupils in rural and disadvantaged areas of Vietnam.
 
Mr. Takashi Fujii, Chairman cum General Director of Dai-ichi Life Vietnam, cum Executive Officer of Dai-ichi Life Japan, said: " We hope that the project not only provides better learning conditions for rural pupils, thereby preventing the onset of harmful water-borne illnesses, but also helps increase the awareness in the community of the importance of clean water for the country’s future generations.”
