Vietnam's Aviation Sector Set to Grow 10 per cent in 2005


The aviation industry in
Vietnam has set a target of achieving the growth rate of 10 per cent this year, according to Nguyen Tien Sam, Deputy Transport Minister cum Director of the Vietnam Aviation Administration.

 

To realise this target, the industry will adopt numerous measures, including improving services quality, simplifying administrative procedures and cutting down on prices and fees, he said.

 

Additionally, Mr Sam stressed that the industry would this year strive to complete the compilation of a revised draft law on civil aviation and development plans for the period between now and 2010.

 

During the year, it will also work out a blue print to develop the national airport system until 2020 in order to submit to the Government for approval.

 

Moreover, the industry will focus on maintaining and strengthening security tasks, actively participating in preventing epidemics and boosting international co-operation, the deputy minister added.
