Cooperation Boosted to Support Vietnamese and Timor-Leste Businesses

Vietnam and Timor-Leste have achieved a significant progress in business cooperation, strengthened by various business meetings between the two sides.

At the reception of Ms. Virginia Ana Belo, Chair of the Economic and Development Committee under the National Parliament of Timor-Leste, Mr. Hoang Quang Phong, Vice President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), said that VCCI would work closely with other Timor-Leste organizations to promote information exchanges and business exchanges between the two countries.

Ms. Virginia Ana Belo said, Timor-Leste is working to develop the Timor-Leste Chamber of Commerce and Industry into an effective agency representing the business community. The head of the Economic and Development Committee of the Timor-Leste National Parliament hoped to cooperate with VCCI to acquire experience and strengthen business exchanges.

VCCI Vice President Hoang Quang Phong said, VCCI is a national agency that gathers and represents the business community, employers and business associations in Vietnam for the purpose of developing, protecting and supporting businesses. In addition, VCCI works closely with international organizations, especially commercial and industry chambers in other nations.

He said, to effectively promote the bilateral cooperation, Vietnam and Timor-Leste necessarily capitalize on the most of the opportunity to boost their trade. VCCI and its Timor-Leste counterpart will foster cooperation to jointly promote and protect legitimate rights and interests of their business communities, fortify cooperation of businesses, business associations and support trade, investment and cooperation activities of the two sides.
