The Vinh Phuc Provincial People’s Committee recently held the regular meeting for November, gave remarks on the draft report on local socioeconomic situations in 2019 and socioeconomic development plans in 2020, adjustments to the medium-term public investment plan for 2016-2020 and various draft reports and resolutions for the 14th Meeting of the 16th Provincial People’s Council.
Regarding local socioeconomic situation in 2019, the draft report of the Provincial People’s Committee highlighted some outstanding results: The economic growth was estimated at 8.66%, higher than the target, the highest since 2016 and higher than the national average in the reviewed period. The economic structure continued to shift positively. Per capita GRDP reached VND90.5 million a year, an increase of VND4 million over 2018. The province's fiscal revenue was estimated at over VND32 trillion in 2019, 16% higher than the target, of which domestic revenue accounted for over VND28.5 trillion, 18% higher than the target. Investment value, both domestic and foreign, increased sharply. Sociocultural fields were invested for development. New rural construction program continued to be promoted. National security was strengthened.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Tri said, in the coming time, provincial departments and localities should review and work out plans to achieve and beat socioeconomic targets; set higher targets for 2020 than in 2019 to outdo the whole-term objectives; focus on clearing the ground for projects; effectively plan, exploit and use resources for development investment; remove bottlenecks for economic development; ensure social security, employment and income for people; and enhance security and order during Party congresses at all levels.
