On February 24, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) hosted a ceremony to award certificates of merit to partners assisting the organization of business-related events in ASEAN Year 2020.

In 2020, VCCI was assigned by the Government to chair and organize 40 conferences in the form of offline (physical venue), online or online-offline combination. Major and important events include the Meeting between ASEAN BAC and ASEAN Senior Leaders, the Dialogue between the East Asia Business Council (EABC) and ASEAN+3 Senior Leaders, the Dialogue between ASEAN BAC and ASEAN Economy and Finance Ministers, the ASEAN Startup Forum, and the Indo-Pacific Business Forum (IPBF).

In particular, on the occasion of the 37th ASEAN Summit, VCCI successfully hosted the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (ASEAN BIS 2020), the Vietnam Business Summit (VBS 2020), the ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs Summit 2020, and the ASEAN Business Award (ABA) among others.

Dr. Vu Tien Loc, President of VCCI, said, major business events were attended and addressed by the Prime Minister, governmental officials of Vietnam as well as senior leaders of ASEAN countries and ASEAN partners. These events were aired globally to thousands of ASEAN and international delegates and highly appreciated by them. These meetings also enhanced Vietnam's reputation and position in the regional and international business community, and strengthened confidence in cooperation with ASEAN in general and with Vietnam in particular.

“To achieve the above good results, especially at major events such as ABIS, VBS and ABA, contributions of VCCI partners - including organizations, agencies, companies and individuals - from building ideas, planning and execution helped VCCI to successfully complete its assigned tasks. Therefore, VCCI hosted this ceremony to award certificates of merit to collectives and individuals for working together with VCCI during these important events,” he added.
