Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Director of the Bac Giang Department of Science and Technology, said, with the mission of leading innovation and creativity, science and technology has really become a driving force that plays a key role in developing production forces and improving economic productivity, quality and competitiveness.

Specifically, in industry and handicraft, the Department of Science and Technology has supported enterprises to enhance technology and apply new technological advances to production to boost scale, raise product quality, and reduce costs. In agriculture, scientific and technological advances have been applied to increase productivity; created many advanced and sustainable production models, and focused on key agricultural products, especially OCOP products. In addition, applying advanced high-quality techniques to disease-free crop seeding to develop commercial forests has brought high economic benefits to forest growers. Science and technology also helps aquacultural conversion in arable lands from an unsustainable crop to aquaculture to increase economic value. The Department of Science and Technology also researched solutions to scale up farm economic models and effective agricultural production models and proposed solutions to boost agricultural exports.

Not only applying science and technology to economic fields, the Department of Science and Technology also fosters scientific and technological application to other fields such as culture - society, national defense and security, environmental protection, response to climate change, and biodiversity.

With the motto "science and technology helps businesses" where enterprises are placed at the center of innovation, the Bac Giang Department of Science and Technology will actively carry out business support projects to accelerate technology transfer and innovation, trade promotion, intellectual property development, productivity improvement and product quality. The sector focuses on disseminating and guiding enterprises to participate in the National Technology Innovation Program in order to enhance product competitiveness. The department will also upgrade online technology and equipment exchange to become a "Technology Supply-Demand Matcher" for organizations and scientists to transfer technical advances to businesses seeking new technological changes.

To accelerate market development and the innovation startup ecosystem, the department will submit a support project for the national innovation startup ecosystem to 2025. The district also assists enterprises to boost productivity and product quality by adopting technological solutions, standards, systems and tools for higher productivity and quality, combined with scientific advances and technological innovations to make the most of achievements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

In addition, the department will act to connect technology suppliers and buyers; complete and promote roles of virtual technology trading floors as a foundation for consulting, brokering, transferring and commercializing technology; step up establishment, management and development of industrial property owners of key typical products of the province; maintain quality and production process original registrations, and improve product value and competitiveness.

According to Director of the Bac Giang Department of Science and Technology Nguyen Thanh Binh, scientific and technological business support programs have produced positive effects on business operations. From now to 2025, Bac Giang province will continue to pay attention to using State budget funds for this activity, with about 1.5% of the total budget fund.
