Viatris Vietnam Ltd. Co. has celebrated its first anniversary and marked the expansion of its commercial footprint by opening a new office in Hanoi.
This is Viatris’ second office in Vietnam following the launch of its corporate office in Ho Chi Minh City in 2021. With this launch, Viatris Vietnam aims to accelerate the expansion of Vietnamese patients’ access to medicine and build upon its strong foundation of successful partnerships to improve patient health and support communities.

Viatris marks its first anniversary in Vietnam
Viatris Vietnam has a broad product portfolio of treatment options for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and infectious diseases across Cardiovascular, Pain, CNS & Men’s Health including a continued focus on localization efforts through technology transfer of Off-Patent Originator (“OPO”) and Covid-19 treatment drugs.
In Vietnam, the rising burden of NCDs is a major health concern, accounting for 77% of deaths in the country. Cardiovascular diseases account for most NCD fatalities with 31% followed by cancer with 19%, 6% for chronic respiratory diseases, diabetes with 4% and other non-communicable diseases with 18%.
Strengthening its commitment to Vietnamese community, Viatris Vietnam established partnerships with various stakeholders, including government agencies and leading hospitals with a focus on access to medicine, public awareness and disease screening, and healthcare provider education about NCD’s. The company’s partnership with Vietnam Heart Association, the Vietnam Internal Medicine Association, and the Vietnam Association of Diabetes and Endocrinology elevated the delivery of medical education and provide healthcare professionals with the latest information and advanced treatment guidelines through scientific conferences and webinars.
Advancing patient access further, the Vietnam team launched the Golden Star Health Program and its continuous SCORE-VN App. Designed for early detection and better disease management, the SCORE-VN App is aimed to equip general physicians across small hospitals and clinics to evaluate and identify patients at risk. Over the past year, the program delivered screening model training on cardiovascular diseases and diabetes to 1,000 doctors which facilitated screening of 28,410 people, detection of 5,273 patients, and 3,832 patients managed per protocol. The Golden Star Health Program was launched in partnership with the Vietnam Heart Association (VNHA).
Viatris Vietnam also collaborated with the government and Ministry of Health in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic bringing millions of doses of Remdesivir to meet the urgent treatment needs of the Vietnamese patients.
