Promoting the potential of agricultural products of Tien Giang province, Hung Phat Fruits Producing Co., Ltd has marketed and exported a variety of frozen and processed fruits and helped create a new approach for the province's agricultural sector and boost the brand name of Vietnamese fruits.

Product diversity

In 2016, Hung Phat Fruits Producing Co., Ltd joined Andros Group, a multinational corporation with more than 40 fruit processing factories in 25 countries around the world and a leading European fruit processor. To exploit fruit resources, the company modernized two production factories in Go Cong and My Tho. Currently, Go Cong Factory has a designed capacity of 1,500 pallets of finished products, bringing its total output capacity to 22,000 tons of finished products a year.

After five years of joining, every year, the company purchases 20,000 tons of fresh fruits for processing and exports 8,000 tons of products to the world. The firm launched the Andros Professional brand for Chunky food services sector - ingredients for beverage processing. The products are present in the largest coffee chains in Vietnam such as The Coffee House, Phuc Long and Highland Coffee. In addition, the company supplies Vinamilk and some other manufacturers in the market.

In particular, in 2019, Hung Phat Fruits Producing Co., Ltd launched Fruit Me Up (a pureed fruit product) for the retail industry. Fruit Me Up offers a new experience and a more palatable way to enjoy fruit while retaining all the nutrients, fibers and vitamins needed for health and immunity.

Valentin Tran, General Director of Hung Phat Fruits Producing Co., Ltd, said that exporting frozen fruits and pureed fruits to B2B customers worldwide is the company’s biggest business market. The company has been invested in technologies by the group to bring quality and nutritious products to consumers. The products are all adjusted for the taste of Vietnamese people in particular and Asians in general.

In Vietnam, Hung Phat mainly focuses on beverage and baking ingredients branded Andros Professional. The products are free from artificial colors and preservatives, becoming ideal for bartenders and bakers to unleash their creativity and bring healthy products to customers and consumers.

Besides, the company has started to have products for the FMCG market and is planning to launch these new products in the future.

Building a sustainable value chain

Located in the Mekong Delta, Tien Giang is the largest fruit producer, with 68,000 ha of fruit trees and a yearly output of over 1.8 million tons. To tap this potential and strength, Hung Phat Fruits Producing Co., Ltd has not only boosted fruit development and processing but also quickly built and expanded its supply chain in Vietnam.

In June 2022, Andros Asia signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Tien Giang Cooperative Alliance to establish a fruit production and consumption chain based on the technical agricultural services model comprised of seed services, techniques for harvesting and post-harvest care, processing and consumption services, to ensure that Andros Asia's input materials meet Global GAP standards. Thus, Hung Phat Fruits Producing Co., Ltd has bolstered cooperation with farmers and fruit suppliers in a bid to realize the goal of increasing the annual fresh fruit purchase to 30,000 tons in the province from 2025.

In addition, the firm inaugurated a specialized cold storage facility with a capacity of 1,500 palettes at Go Cong Factory, covering an area of 6,000 square meters, part of a processing plant of 16,000 square meters - a strategic production base of the group in Vietnam. This is a next step in factory expansion, which will continue to be accelerated from now until 2025.

General Director Valentin Tran said, “Always accompanying farmers in all markets where Andros is present”, Hung Phat Fruits Producing Co., Ltd not only purchases fruits but also wants to be closer to fruit growers to understand their difficulties to build a sustainable development relationship. In turn, they can understand the company's expectations about fruit quality standards. Andros Asia, including Hung Phat, is ready to invest in developing raw material areas and purchase fruits for farmers in Tien Giang province and broader Vietnam.

This activity is part of Andros Asia's long-term strategy. As a fruit expert, it helps farmers improve their thinking and farming methods to obtain good yields and high quality and get significant profit for its efforts.

Remarking on the Tien Giang business environment, he said, Tien Giang province has great potential to attract investors, especially agricultural producers and processors. The local investment environment has been increasingly improved in a more friendly and open direction. In the past years, especially two years of COVID-19 epidemic impacts, the company has received valuable support, care and assistance from authorities at all levels, enabling it to prevent epidemic contagion and maintain business operations.

In the coming time, Hung Phat Fruits Producing Co., Ltd hopes to receive care and support from local government to have more large and pervasive projects, hence contributing more to local agricultural and socioeconomic development and gradually raise the value of Vietnamese agricultural products.

“These five years are just the beginning! Andros will continue its sustainable company and development in Tien Giang and Vietnam as a whole,” he affirmed.
