“Sinh Con, Sinh Cha” Discusses Parenting Topics on Child Abuse with Hundreds of Families in Thanh Hoa City

Generali Vietnam Life Insurance LLC (“Generali Vietnam”) collaborated with The National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC), Thanh Hoa province’s Department of Labor – Invalids & Social Affairs and Provincial  Fund for Children to organize a "Sinh Con, Sinh Cha” (Born Children, Born Parents) workshop for more than 500 parents, children and the teachers, staff of Hoa Mai kindergarten in Ngoc Trao district, Thanh Hoa city.

The “Sinh Con, Sinh Cha” workshop in Thanh Hoa city facilitated discussion on three popular parenting topics attracting public attention in recent times: protecting children against physical and psychological abuses, handling children’s tantrum behaviors, as well as early education for children about money. Merited Artist Xuan Bac – NFVC’s goodwill ambassador, volunteered as the workshop’s facilitator. Discussed topics at the workshop are within the program’s three main content pillars of intelligence, behaviors and health of children aged 0 – 6 years.

Many Generali Vietnam’s staff and agent volunteers; as well as staff members from the NFVC; Thanh Hoa Province’s Department of Labor – Invalids & Social Affairs and Provincial Fund for Children, Hoa Mai kindergarten joined hands to support the workshop’s organization.

At the event, Generali Vietnam handed 250 gift sets to all participating children, 250 program booklets to their parents and caregivers, as well as 30 special in-cash and in-kind gift sets to 30 local families in extreme hardship.

Ms. Tina Nguyen, Generali Vietnam CEO, shared: “Arriving in Thanh Hoa province this time, our “Sinh Con, Sinh Cha” workshop series continued to discuss important, relevant and practical parenting topics which many parents are still lacking knowledge for or may not pay due attention to. The enthusiastic responses from hundreds of families in Thanh Hoa province greatly motivate the team from Generali Vietnam and NFVC to put in greater efforts to scale up the program to many more localities.”

This workshop in Thanh Hoa province continued to extend the success of “Sinh Con, Sinh Cha” workshops which have been implemented across the country, contributing positively to the protection, nurture and education of Vietnamese children as well as their comprehensive development.”

To date, “Sinh Con, Sinh Cha” has benefited about 5,500 parents, children, kindergarten teachers and staff via local workshops in provinces and cities across the country. It has also garnered millions of views, interactions and positive comments via its sitcom series published on Generali Vietnam’s official Youtube channel, and wide-ranging parenting content on its Facebook fanpage and “Sinh Con, Sinh Cha” parenting community group.

“Sinh Con, Sinh Cha” has been releasing the 2022 season of the parenting sitcom series on the program’s various digital platforms and Generali Vietnam’s Youtube channel. The 12 brand new episodes introduce essential parenting topics such as sugar intake in children’s dietary regime, resolving parenting conflicts, child negligence as a form of abuse, prenatal education, infant care, etc. On this occasion, Generali Vietnam also commits to contribute VND100,000 to “Sinh Con, Sinh Cha”’s operating fund for every successfully issued policy of VITA – Cho Con, Generali’s recently launched education-focused investment-linked insurance product.

Ín 2022, “Sinh Con, Sinh Cha” announced the results of the independent impact report for its pilot program in 2020 – 2021 with an average of 85% of parents surveyed agreeing that the program helps improve their parenting knowledge and skills for each topic discussed. Additionally, 97% of the parents have changed their parenting approaches as suggested by the program, while the program is also reported to have helped more than 97% of the parents reduce their parenting stress.

In 2021, the Generali Group pledged over EUR1 million support for UNICEF’s “Integrated Early Childhood Development (IECD) Holistic Parenting” project as well as the contribution of parenting materials and content from “Sinh Con, Sinh Cha” to this important project.

In recognition of “Sinh Con, Sinh Cha”’s innovative approach and its sustainable impacts, Generali Vietnam has received organizational and individual commendations from the Minister of Labor – Invalids and Social Affairs, recognizing outstanding contributions to Vietnamese children’s well-being and protection, and “Saigon Times CSR” certifications for outstanding community contributions consecutively in 2020 and 2021.
