Generali Vietnam Life Insurance LLC (Generali Vietnam”) collaborated with The National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC), Dak Lak’s Provincial Fund for Children and Phu Loc commune’s People’s Committee to organize an opening ceremony to inaugurate a new kindergarten branch for Phu Loc kindergarten, Loc Thai hamlet, Phu Loc commune, Krong Nang district, Dak Lak province.

The classroom is fully funded via the “Tiếp bước em đến trường” (Supporting the Children’s Schooling Steps) initiative jointly organized by Generali Vietnam and the NFVC within the framework of Generali Group’s The Human Safety Net’s Global Challenge 2022.

The project’s completed works will be immediately put into operation in the academic year 2022-2023. These include a fully equipped classroom building, a standard playground, sanitation area, and other classroom equipments. All project costs are funded by donations made to the “Tiếp bước em đến trường” initiative jointly organized by Generali Vietnam and the NFVC in 2022.

The fundraising initiative received wholehearted support and participation, as well as generous donations from hundreds of staff, agents, public members and donors across the country. Volunteers and fundraisers joined together to exercise, completed pledged physical challenges, while calling for their families, friends and the public to encourage their efforts by donating to the charity fund.

On this occasion, to promote the love for reading and help the kindergarten children to develop a positive reading habit from a young age, Generali and its partners also gifted a ‘mini library’ with hundreds of books and reading materials. Of note, many books’ titles were recommended by the community via the “Kindergarten Book Ideas Contest” on The Human Safety Net Vietnam fanpage.

Ms. Tina Nguyen, Generali Vietnam CEO, shared: “Investing in children’s health and education is always a top priority for families and society. We hope that the new kindergarten featuring a spacious, safe, clean and well-equipped learning environment will help shape a brighter future for our children. We would also like to express our sincere appreciation for the NFVC for joining hands and supporting us in realizing our ambition of becoming “Lifetime Partner” to millions of Vietnamese families.”

Mr. Hoang Van Tien, Director of the NFVC, remarked: “This school building fundraising initiative once again affirms Generali’s pioneering position in implementing unique and innovative community initiatives that deliver practical and sustainable values. With the project team’s determination and dedication, we are glad to have been able to quickly have this project successfully executed and school put into operation. This helps meet the urgent needs of Phu Loc kindergarten’s children and staff, as well as the families of 30 kindergarten children aged 3 – 5 years currently enrolled by the school. We look forward to the continued fruitful partnership between the two organizations to further strengthen the quality of care, protection and education of Vietnamese children.”

The new facility will replace the poor conditioned classroom that temporarily made use of the village’s common room where learning and teaching activities are often interrupted by the village’s activities. The new kindergarten is expected to offer a safe and well-equipped learning and playing environment for the children, thereby contributing to the comprehensive growth of generations of kindergarten children in the local community.

“Tiếp bước em đến trường” is part of Generali Group’s The Human Safety Net Global Challenge 2022 with the participation of more than 2,500 Generali volunteers from across 23 countries, helping more than 5,000 parents and children all over the world.
