Viet Capital Securities Joint Stock Company (VietCapital) and Binh Duong Water-Environment Joint Stock Company (BIWASE - BWE) recently had a meeting both physically and virtually with investors and introduced Binh Duong water industry prospects for the period of 2023 - 2025.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thien, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BIWASE, requested investors to raise as many tough questions as possible for BIWASE's management board. Recently, some investors have sold off BWE shares, while the potential and growth prospect of Binh Duong water industry is very large.
Answering investors' questions about the growth prospects in the BIWASE ecosystem including many businesses under Thu Dau Mot Water Joint Stock Company (TDM), Gia Tan Water Supply Joint Stock Company (Dong Nai). Chairman Nguyen Van Thien respectively informed that water supply and drainage, and the environment required large investment capital while the time to exploit and generate profits was slow compared to other trade and service industries. The potential and prospects of the water and environment sectors are always parallel with the investment attraction capacity and the GRDP growth index of the province and the region. Binh Duong is the second biggest province in the country in terms of attracting foreign investment with many billion-dollar projects such as VSIP II and III Industrial Parks, LeGo Group, urban areas, and industrial zones.
BIWASE is a leading enterprise in Vietnam's water supply industry, with the main pipeline system (D600 - D1,6000) with a length of up to 60 km. Similarly, Gia Tan water plant (Dong Nai) has developed a water supply system for the most remote localities in Dong Nai province that have never had clean water before. Gia Tan water supply capacity has increased by 100% over the same period and will continue to increase strongly when Long Thanh Airport and industrial parks in Dong Nai province come into operation.
BIWASE is the first enterprise in Vietnam with which DEG - Investment Fund of the German Development Bank KFW signed to finance the improvement of water quality. This is a bright spot that proves BIWASE's position in the industry and also creates an opportunity to strengthen the cooperation relationship with the leading global banks specializing in financial investment in the fields of infrastructure, agriculture and environment.

In 2022, BIWASE negotiated, and successfully made many merger and acquisition deals such as those with Can Tho Water Supply Joint Stock Company - the largest urban area in the Mekong Delta; and the water supply plant in Minh Hung Industrial Park - South Korea (Binh Phuoc).
Regarding the business results in the first nine months of 2022, BIWASE achieved a revenue of VND2,828 billion, reaching 73% of the year plan; the profit after tax was VND523 billion, reaching 70% of the plan. The waste treatment reached 2,750 tons/day, up 28% over the same period. The wastewater collection and treatment achieved a revenue of VND180 billion, up 17% over the same period. The rate of drainage was 5%, down 0.4% from the same period. In terms of the direction for 2023, BIWASE will promote investment in pipeline distribution and customer development. The fields of garbage and wastewater collection and treatment have increased because people and businesses see the benefits and responsibilities of protecting the environment and improving public health.
In 2022, when the price of chemical fertilizers increased, farmers switched to using organic fertilizers, including Con Voi Binh Duong organic fertilizer, a product of BIWASE. Showing the long-term goal and accompanying farmers in safe production for the aim of sustainable development, BIWASE did not raise prices although the products were consumed right after production.
In 2023, BIWASE sets various targets including the total revenue of VND4,000 billion; the profit before tax of VND840 billion; the profit after tax of VND760 billion. It also outlines the production and business direction in 2023 that it will continue to accelerate the expansion of the water supply network in Bau Bang, Chon Thanh - Binh Phuoc. It will focus on building mechanisms and policies to attract and encourage a high-quality labor force and long-term attachment to the company.
The good news shared by Chairman Nguyen Van Thien was that the World Bank (WB) and Binh Duong People's Committee had signed an agreement to finance US$350 million to build a new wastewater collection and treatment plant along with upgrading and expanding the three existing plants. The above project is expected to contribute to increasing revenue and development potential in the BIWASE ecosystem.
Answering questions from investors about the HR vision and strategy, Mr. Tran Chien Cong, General Director of BIWASE, said: Two important factors of BIWASE were professional personnel along with potential, development opportunities and stable financial capacity, ensuring long-term and sustainable benefits for investors. "The dividend next year is always higher than the previous year."
