On December 12, Mastercard and Grab Vietnam announced their renewed partnership on the “Delivery for Good” initiative for the second year in a row. Under this year’s project, the organizations will deliver Tet hampers of daily necessities to over 5,900 families in need in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces before the end of January 2023.

The “Delivery for Good” initiative was first introduced in 2021, amidst the fourth wave of the COVID-19 outbreak, providing over 5,000 essential packages to children and families in Ho Chi Minh city who had been severely impacted by the pandemic. The project strived to bring relief to those who were struggling in difficult circumstances and supported their sustainable recovery.

With the aim of “Gathering Love, Giving Better Lives”, Mastercard and Grab Vietnam are extending their mission this year to reach and provide support to more people in disadvantaged situations. Both partners are leveraging their commercial networks and partnerships to provide gift packages to those in need, bringing the love and strength that prepare them for a fresh start in 2023.

Nguyen Thi My Hanh, Deputy Country Head, Grab Vietnam shared: “It’s our great honor to join hands with Mastercard in this “Delivery for Good” initiative. As Grab is committed to drive Southeast Asia forward by creating economic empowerment for everyone, we’re keen on supporting ideas that care about vulnerable groups and make their lives lighten with hope. Tet is just around the corner, and this is the right time for us to share love and spread hope. I strongly believe that the “Delivery for Good” initiative is a strong testament to our commitment.”

The program will be facilitated directly through Grab services. For every ride and order from VND200,000 paid with a Mastercard debit or credit card in the month of November and December 2022, Mastercard will contribute the same amount to purchase Tet hampers, which will subsequently be delivered to the beneficiaries by Grab's driver partners.

“Mastercard is committed to building a more connected world and is going beyond commerce to support communities and individuals in need.  Mastercard is delighted to continue its meaningful partnership with Grab Vietnam to help support recovery efforts within the communities,” said Winnie Wong, Country Manager, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, Mastercard. “With the “Delivery for Good” initiative, Mastercard will leverage its technologies to provide a seamless and safe way for people to integrate giving into their daily activities and make a positive impact on the vulnerable members of society.”

As part of Mastercard’s Priceless Causes global platform, the “Delivery for Good” initiative is designed to bring people, businesses, and opportunities together. Through the Priceless Causes platform, Mastercard has been extending its humanitarian reach through a wide range of programs, such as building digital immunization records for children in the poorest countries, inspiring girls in Tech, and developing sustainable products for the payment industry.
