VCCI, NCCIM Sign MoU to Enhance Vietnam-Malaysia Business Ties

On July 20, 2023, as part of the official visit of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and his spouse to Vietnam, President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Pham Tan Cong and President of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Malaysia (NCCIM) Tan Sri Dato’ Soh Thian Lai signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Hanoi, witnessed by the prime ministers of both countries.

The MoU aims to strengthen the collaboration between VCCI and NCCIM in accordance with their respective roles, duties and responsibilities, as well as the laws and regulations of their countries and the international treaties they have ratified. Under the MoU, VCCI and NCCIM agree to cooperate and work toward improving and expanding the trade and economic relations between the Vietnamese and Malaysian business communities.

VCCI and NCCIM will assist each other in participating in trade shows, fairs, forums, seminars or similar events within their respective domains; support and facilitate the exchange of trade delegations, missions and business visits between the two countries; implement all necessary procedures to ensure the effective implementation of the MoU for mutual benefit and review it periodically for possible adjustments; contribute to promoting commercial and investment opportunities in their respective areas of expertise; and encourage, when appropriate, the establishment of a Joint Business Council between Vietnam and Malaysia to further foster friendship and cooperation/relations in trade, economy and investment between the two business communities.
