Hanoi Launches OCOP Product, Craft Villages and Safe Farm Products Weekly Fair

The weekly takes place at the cultural park in Dong Da district, Hanoi city from May 29, 2024 to June 2, 2024.

This is a coordinated activity between the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the People's Committee of Dong Da district with 50 booths and over 500 OCOP products that are regional specialties of Hanoi city and 14 provinces and cities nationwide (Tuyen Quang, Yen). Bai, Hung Yen, Hai Phong, Quang Nam, Ha Nam, Son La, Thanh Hoa, Dak Lak, Thai Nguyen, Vinh Phuc, Phu Yen, Thai Binh, Bac Ninh). Hanoi alone has 20 booths with over 100 OCOP products registered to participate.

The city currently has over 1,350 craft villages, accounting for 40% of the country's craft villages, and is a potential cradle for OCOP product development. Regarding cuisine, culinary processing has many regional and family secrets that reach culinary quintessence, regional specialties have great economic value, creating a proud cultural identity.

Developing OCOP products, from 2019 up to now, Hanoi has evaluated and classified 2,711 products, of which: 6 5-star products, 12 potential 5-star products, 1,473 4-star products and 1,220 5-star products. 3 star product.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hoa - Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that this weekly has a very important meaning, it is an opportunity to help OCOP subjects in Hanoi and provinces and cities across the country to exchange and discuss. Connecting trade, promoting brands, promoting trade, in order to constantly improve productivity, product quality, and the capacity of OCOP subjects, especially consumers, have a better understanding of the product so they are interested in using it.
