SCTV was honored as one of the Top 100 sustainable businesses in the Trade and Services category within the CSI 2024 Program by VCCI, marking its fourth consecutive year earning this title. Our reporter has an interview on this achievement with Mr. Truong Chi Binh, General Director of Saigontourist Cable Television Company (SCTV).

First of all, congratulations to SCTV for being honored as the Top 100 sustainable business in 2024. How do you feel about this achievement?
SCTV’s inclusion in the Top 100 sustainable businesses for the fourth time is a true source of pride. This result is not only a testament to the continuous effort of SCTV people but also a statement on our commitment to long-term sustainable development. Every year, SCTV sets higher standards and constantly improves to meet all criteria set by the CSI Program. I am very pleased that these efforts are recognized and we will continue to work hard to claim this achievement again and again.
How did SCTV meet strict CSI criteria?
To meet CSI criteria, SCTV has focused on many factors. First of all, in corporate governance, we enhance transparency in all activities and always uphold high ethical standards to gain the trust of partners and customers. Regarding sustainable economy, SCTV always strives to optimize resources, improve productivity and minimize waste. In addition, we focus on environmental responsibility by reducing emissions and saving energy. At the same time, SCTV always attaches importance to social responsibility, ensures employee benefits and makes positive contributions to the community. Finally, product and service innovations are indispensable to bring high environmental-friendly values.

How have CSI criteria supported SCTV in shaping its sustainable development strategy?
The Corporate Sustainability Index (CSI) is a “dynamic” measure whose criteria are always updated in line with important legal changes that Vietnamese businesses need to pay attention to, or new trends from the international market. The gauge is the compass for us to clearly define sustainable development goals. By applying CSI criteria, SCTV has developed a clear long-term strategy focused on driving economic growth while prioritizing social and environmental sustainability. These criteria help us improve our governance, hence creating sustainable value for customers and the community while enhancing SCTV's image and reputation in the market.
What plans does SCTV have to maintain this title and achieve further success?
In the current context, sustainable development is a new business strategy and model for companies and a “passport” for companies to enter the market and move toward the future. SCTV always defines sustainable development as a long-term strategy. We will continue to invest in advanced technology to improve products/services. We will foster innovations, provide more environmentally friendly services and products and further enhance employee rights. With a strong commitment of all the leadership and staff, I am confident that SCTV will continue to maintain this title and constantly strive to become an outstanding example in sustainable development and advance with the Vietnamese business community in the green era.
