The organising committee of the first Vietnam Rice Festival 2009 said exhibitors from over 30 provinces and cities registered to showcase their products in more than 400 booths.
Of the 400 stands, 100 have rice varieties on display, 87 others showcase Vietnamese products from rural areas and the rest exhibit other products.
Apart from the main exhibition and information rice transaction area, the festival will highlight the Vietnamese wet rice culture on an area of 1,800 sq.m, three models of rice cultivation from three regions in the country, a history of agricultural machines and equipment on the area of 1,000 sq.m, and street performances and installation arts.
Other activities include “dan ca tai tu” (folksong performances) from 18 southern provinces and cities, the food festival on the floating market and the national contest on farming extension.
The first Vietnam Rice Festival 2009 will take place from November 28 to December 2, 2009.
