Australian Consul-General Visits two DAP Projects in Can Tho

Mr John McAnulty, Australian Consul-General in Ho Chi Minh City, recently joined the hand-over ceremony of Phacoemulsifier machine valued at VND613 million to Can Tho Hospital of Eye - Odonto – Stomatology and the opening ceremony of the new kindergarten buildings valued at VND300 million at Truong Long Commune, Phong Dien District, Can Tho City.

 

These two projects are provided by the Australian Government through the Australian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City. Addressing at the ceremony, Mr John McAnulty said that the Phacoemulsifier machine is just one of a few in Vietnam, this machine will benefit blind people not only in Can Tho city but right throughout the Mekong Delta. At Truong Phu Kindergarten, Mr McAlnulty revealed that the two new classrooms will provide a good start for kids in their early years by providing a clean, safe environment where they can enjoy learning.

 

The project funding was provided through the Australian Government’s Direct Aid Programme (DAP). DAP is a small, flexible grants programme for development activities which aims to alleviate situations of humanitarian hardship. The programme aims to assist low income communities in southern provinces of Vietnam.
