Can Tho Urban Construction Co., Ltd: Sustainable Growth Solutions

After being converted into a sole-member limited liability company in July 2010, the State-owned Can Tho Urban Construction Co., Ltd started to carry out its corporate restructuring scheme according to Decision 929/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister in 2012. Currently, the company only focuses on its core business lines, including environmental sanitation, green park maintenance, and public lighting maintenance. The company is also running public passenger transportation in order to serve social and political tasks assigned by the municipal authority.

 

The company is experiencing a turbulent year of 2013 as it is preparing the scheme for going public and Can Tho City started to put public services to auction. The organisational structure of the company was stirred up because employees were not assured of stable employment, even facing layoffs when the company lost bids. However, with the timely direction of executive board and the collective effort and determination of over 500 employees, the company has managed to overcome difficulties and challenges to keep its current market share and maintain stable business operations. Besides, the firm always strives to stabilise and raise incomes for employees.

 

Deputy Director Nguyen Thach Em said the company has proposed solutions for operational improvement after going public. Particularly, the firm will determine target markets to meet the increasing demand of customers and enhance competition amid the growing popularity of public services socialisation. The company will focus on some core solutions such as effective cost management and performance-based compensation; consider investing in modern facilities to meet market requirements; and pay more attention to work safety and security. The firm will continue to maintain and develop public services by enhancing service quality and applying reasonable prices, raising the credibility and the role of the company in the city.
