Authorities in northern Hai Duong province have licensed a joint venture project for Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), Chi Linh Joint Stock Company IQLINKS, South Korea’s Ubiquam Co., and the US’s Qualcomm group to make telecom equipment using CDMA technology.
This will be the first time Qualcomm, the owner of CDMA technology, will be licensed to transfer high technology and directly invest in such projects in Vietnam, according to local State media.
The IQLINKS Co. Ltd. has a total investment of US$5 million and will be located on an area of 3.5 ha in Cong Hoa Commune in Chi Linh District of the province.
The construction of the project’s factory will start in April and the factory will come into operation one year later.
