Vinamotor to Invest US$70Mln in Bus Plant in Dominican Republic
Vietnam Motors Industry Corp. (Vinamotor) will invest US$70 million to build a bus plant in Santiago province, northern Dominican Republic.
The State-run Vinamotor will start the project by this year’s end, a source Dominican Republic cabinet said.
However, it refused to give detail about the output of this plant.
Vinamotor has sold some 1,000 buses to National Transport Confederation (Conatra) of Dominican Republic, through an intermediary.
Dinh Viet Phuong, head of Vinamotor international relations, who has visit the Caribbean nation, said the price of vehicles made in Dominican Republic will be lower than imported models by more than 10 per cent.
