Government Okays Visa Exemption for Brunei Citizens
Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved visa exemption for Brunei 's ordinary passport holders who want to stay in Vietnam for not more than 14 days in Vietnam, said local media.
The decision came into effects from August 8, 2007.
The move followed a similar decision issued August 1 by the Government of Brunei Darussalam to unilaterally grant visa exemption to Vietnamese ordinary passport holders who want to stay in the country as much as 14 days.
Vietnam and Brunei established diplomatic relations in February 1992. Since then, the two sides regularly exchanged high-ranking delegations. However, economic ties between the two nations are modest.
Brunei will be the last leg of the forthcoming visit by Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung to five ASEAN countries from August 8-17. The visit aims to strengthen friendship and boost economic, trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and Brunei.
