Hong Kong’s Sinotruk Corp October 23 signed a contract with TMT Company, a unit of the state-run Vietnam Motors Industry Corp to sell heavy trucks in the local market.

TMT will be the sole distributor of the foreign auto giant in Vietnam’s market, noted a senior official of TMT at the signing ceremony in Hung Yen province, 40 kilometers northeast of Hanoi.

Up to date, TMT has received as many as 185 heavy trucks capacity of from 8 tons to 25 tons including tipper lorries, ready-mix concrete truck and semi-trailers.

The local company expects to sell 200 trucks under TMT-Sinotruk’s trade mark a month in the domestic market.

TMT, a unit of Vietnam’s largest carmaker Vinamotor, has been chosen to pilot replacement of these small tractors and outdated trucks in northern mountain and central highland provinces by the Government. (Saigon Liberation,Young People)
