Bilateral trade between Vietnam and Cambodia is forecast to surpass US$1.5 billion in 2008, up from US$1.2 billion last year, Vietnam News Agency quoted Vietnam Trade Counselor to Cambodia, Le Bien Cuong as saying.

The two-way trade reached nearly US$900 million in the first half of the year, of which Vietnam exported more than US$700 million worth of goods to Cambodia and imported over US$140 million, he added.

Vietnam mainly exports textiles and garments, computers, electronic appliances, household electrical products, fruit and vegetables, seafood and plastic commodities to its neighbor.

At a trade conference held in January, the two sides targeted to boost bilateral trade to US$2.3 billion in 2010 and US$6.5 billion in 2015. (The People, VNA)
