Smartlink, Banknetvn to Complete ATM Link in Third Quarter
Smartlink and Banknetvn, two largest bankcard alliances in Vietnam, will complete the connection of ATMs of all member banks by the end of the third quarter this year, said Smartlink general director Nguyen Tu Anh.
A network will be formed with 42 member banks, linking about 4,500 ATMs, accounting for 80 per cent of ATMs in Vietnam, she said.
The network will have 9.2 million ATM cards, holding more than 80 per cent of payment cards in the country.
Anh said the connection of all member banks and developing add-valued services will help expand the network and give more utility for card users.
After three months of connection, total value of transactions via Smartlink-Banknetvn alliance reached VND840 billion, representing an average growth of 47 per cent a month. An estimate of 400,000 transactions was seen in a month. (Securities Investment, News)
