Vietnam to Export $1.65 Bln Rubber This Year
Vietnam is expected to export $1.65 billion of rubber, including shipments of 125,000 tons worth $250 million in the remaining months this year.
Between Jan and Oct, local companies had shipped abroad 510,000 tons of rubber valued at $1.4 billion, down 10 per cent on year in volume, but up 28 per cent in value, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said.
Export price of rubber to China was slightly up at $2,047/ton from $1,927/ton, however, several firms exported rubber at $2,600-2,900/ton to emerging export markets including Argentina and Spain.
International rubber prices have dropped due to reduced global tyre consumption in the face of the global financial crisis. (Vietnam Economic Times)
