Vietnam HCMC Tax Authorities Collect US$4.32 Bln in 2008

Vietnam’s biggest economic hub-Ho Chi Minh City-tax authorities reportedly collected VND73 trillion (US$4.32 billion) for state budget, the state-run Tien Phong newspaper said, but giving no comparative figure.
 
Of the total figure, the city’s tax authorities collected VND62.661 trillion from domestic enterprises and VND10.054 trillion from crude oil, the paper said.
 
This year, the city’s tax authorities have set a target of collecting VND75.827 trillion tax payments, the paper added.
 
So far, the city tax authorities have issued 20,123 tax codes to firms and private companies. (Pioneer)
