Vietnamese Goods Dominating Cambodian Market
Many made-in-Vietnam goods have overtaken Thai and Chinese ones to dominate the Cambodian market with average market share of between 45 per cent-60 per cent, reported the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT).
Vietnam has so far had ten lucrative exports to Cambodia, including steel, machines for farm, fertilizer, pesticide, consumer goods, processed farm produce, milk products, seafood and petroleum products.
Among them, seafood has topped the lead, holding 80 per cent of the market share, followed by steel with 68 per cent, processed farm produce with 67 per cent and the rest with between 45 per cent-60 per cent.
Currently, Vietnam has 120 businesses opening representative offices or shops in the neighboring country.
Bilateral trade between Vietnam and Cambodia reportedly reached nearly US$1.7 billion, up US$400 million or 30.76 per cent on-year, including US$1.45 billion worth of Vietnam’s exports, said the Vietnam Trade Office in Phnom Penh. (Vinanet)
