Vietnam Central Highlands 08 Exports Reach US$1.3 Bln

The Central Highlands of Vietnam reportedly earned US$1.3 billion from exports last year, a meeting held in Kon Tum province Mar 12 was told without figuring comparative figures.
 
The figure accounted for 2.06 per cent of the country’s total export turnover in 2008.
 
Rubber, coffee, cashew, pepper and cocoa are the region’s main key exports with coffee being a spearhead.
 
The five-province region has to date licensed 139 FDI projects totaling US$680 million.
 
Of the total capital, Lam Dong accounts for US$477 million, Kon Tum US$77 million, Gia Lai US$64 million and Dak Lac US$44 million and Dak Nong US$18 million. (Young People, Labor)
