Vietnam-Brazil Trade Reaches US$203.8M in Jan-May

Bilateral trade between Vietnam and Brazil reportedly stood at US$203.8 million in the first five months of this year, equal to the figure of the same period last year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said.
 
Vietnam exported US$66.3 million worth of commodities to Brazil during the time, a slight on- year increase of 0.8 per cent, said the ministry, adding that the country ran a huge trade deficit with Brazil at US$137.5 million.
 
Among Vietnam’s key exports to Brazil, computers, electronics and spare parts took the lead with US$10.552 million, followed by footwear at US$9.9 million, garments and textiles at US$5.5 million and handbags, suitcases and umbrellas at US$4.068 million.
 
Two-way trade between Vietnam and Brazil in 2008 reached a record high of US$534.59 million, up 65.35 per cent on year. (Vinanet)
