Golf Tournament "Swing for Life 2009" for Charity

On the occasion of the National Day (September 2) and in response to the “Joining hands to light the DK1” and “Looking to the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa”, the Saigon Golf Association teamed up with the Vietnam Golf and Country Club, better known as Thu Duc Golf Course, to organize the tenth annual charity golf tournament “Swing for Life 2009.” This is the 10^th Swing for Life tournament held by the Saigon Golf Association.

 

As many as 173 golfers from Saigon Golf Association, Thu Duc Golf Course, other golf clubs and individuals competed in five tables.

 

Since 2000, ‘Swing for Life’, organized by the Saigon Golf Association, the Vietnam Golf and Country Club, the HCMC Red Cross and the HCMC Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients, has raised some VND9 billion to help buy facilities for charitable programs and help support medical costs for children.

 

Swing for Life 2009 raised VND1 billion for charity, among which some VND800 million will go to soldiers who live and work on stilt houses standing in the open sea and the rest will go to the soldiers’ families.
